com Newnan, GA Newnan, GA Full-time Full-time $33 - $37 an hour $33 - $37 an hour SUMMARY The Maintenance Technician will be responsible to ensure that all mechanical equipment is well maintained and operational to enhance productivity, maintain safety standards, and minimize down time.
Shift is 10am-6:
30pm (comes with shift differential) ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Perform routine and preventive maintenance for all warehouse and office equipment, ensuring proper operating conditions.
Equipment includes conveyors, racking, lighting, security, forklifts, material handling equipment, fire protection and plumbing systems.
Maintain logs of all preventive and breakdown maintenance performed on conveyors, forklifts and fire protection systems.
Perform light janitorial and other duties as assigned.
Complete tasks assigned by Maintenance Supervisor/Manager.
Ensure that all tasks are completed in a safe, timely and correct manner.
Frequently lift/carry 25 pounds; up to 50 pounds on occasion.
Maintain positive open lines of communication with all management, staff and other departments in order to contribute to the smooth flow of information and efficient operation of the organization.
Cope with a stressful work environment and cordially interact with coworkers to accomplish ADDITIONAL DUTIES Other duties as assigned by supervision and/or management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position has no supervisory responsibility.
QUALIFICATIONS Possess intermediate computer skills.
Possess good verbal communications skills.
Ability to use a variety of hand and powered tools, and possess an aptitude for mechanics.
Ability to conduct interpersonal interactions with company personnel.
Experience with Warehouse Management System or similar systems preferred.
Hydraulic and Pneumatic maintenance experience.
Lift equipment maintenance experience.
Automated retail or wholesale distribution center experience preferred.
Ability to read blueprints, electrical, mechanical, and voice and data communication drawings, and various diagrams.
Good written and oral communication skills.
Understanding of systems such as automated conveyor, sort view and graphical monitors.
Possess good working knowledge of practices regarding hazard communication, chemical usage, material safety data sheets, lock out/tag out, emergency evacuation procedures and emergency generation procedures.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school education, vocational or technical training or equivalent.
1-2 years experience working in industrial environment Experience with Dematic/Rapistan, Hytrol or intelligrated conveying systems is required.
Forklift Mechanic Experience Preferred WORK SCHEDULE Flexible to work on various shifts, and departments, as required.
Overtime, Weekends, Holidays, as required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, write and speak English.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formats.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Post hire certifications may be required to comply w/ safety standards as mandated by law or to operate machinery or equipment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS Physical ability to climb stairs and ladders, sit and stand for extended periods of time, and regularly lift/carry up to 40 pounds.
Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, reach with arms, talk and hear.
May be required to stoop, bend, and crouch.
Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
