Exempt General Definition of Work Performs moderate professional work planning, coordinating, implementing and writing internal and external County communications projects, strategies and activities in line with the overall communications vision; maintains digital platforms and related work as apparent or assigned.
Work is performed under the general direction of the Communications Manager.
Strong communication/writing skills and digital knowledge required.

Essential Functions Assists with the County's overall communications plan, helping with public relations, internal communications, social media, website support, special projects, meetings, presentations and resolutions.
Supports the County's social media outlets including regular updates, strategic posts to support communication goals and consistent moderation of comments and inquiries from the public.
Maintains knowledge and skill to utilize the latest tools and tactics needed to reach Coweta stakeholders, including video, photography, layout/design and superior writing skills.
Consults with Communications Manager, Community & Human Resources (CHR) Director/Staff and Administrative Staff on regular basis and maintains a strong understanding of County roles and functions across the County in order to support and execute vision and outreach opportunities.
Coordinates with department personnel, Administration and the governing body on internal and external County communications to include presentations, publications, promotions and various media platforms.
Maintains strong relationships across employee body to constantly stay informed on County happenings.
Responsible for monitoring logo/branding usage, ensuring policies are followed and educating the employee body regarding usage.
Maintains knowledge and skill to serve as backup County spokesperson as necessary or directed.
Assists with communications support during emergency situations (may require after-hours support).
Supports all Community Relations outreach and educational activities; ensuring activities support strategic County or administration goal.
Supports internal communication initiatives, including SharePoint, Employee Advisory Committee, public email, engagement events, etc.
Attends regular public meetings, including Board of Commissioner meetings, along with relevant public hearings and town halls.
Encourages and promotes a culture of excellent customer service and strong communication skills.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices relating to communications; thorough knowledge of the function and operation of each department; thorough knowledge of writing and editing techniques; general knowledge of County programs, policies and procedures; thorough knowledge of public information and modern principles and practices of public relations, public affairs, community relations, media relations and outreach through social media, graphic design, video and photography; ability to analyze working conditions and potential challenges and recommend alternative methods and procedures; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; ability to develop promotional copy and perform technical editorial work; ability to write public information reports and releases; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, the media and the general public.
Education and Experience Bachelor's degree required with coursework in journalism, mass communication, public relations, or related field and demonstrated work experience in public relations practices, communication, social media, graphic design/publishing and digital photography.
Work history in communications field with 1-3 years of relevant experience preferred (internship work will be considered).

business office, light traffic).
Special Requirements Favorable background history as determined by review of local, State and Federal records.
Valid driver's license in the State of Georgia with a favorable driving history (MVR).

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
